ITU Space Network Systems Online Annual Subscription 2012 - Sistema de Redes Espaciais (SNS) - International Telecommunication Union

Free of charge to TIES Users as from 1st May 2000. In addition to a brief overview of the Radio Regulations referring to space services and general information containing statistics, a database diagram, tables and the AP4 notice forms, the Space Network Systems Online Service allows the user to navigate freely through the database, making predefined special queries to retrieve data based on specified input parameters and to access reference tables and descriptions of the data used in the system, which is updated bi-weekly. This service is an essential reference tool for government agencies, public and private telecommunication operating agencies, manufacturers, scientific/industrial entities, international organizations, consultants, technical colleges, universities, etc.

Space Network Systems Online Service is an annual subscription service that provides online access to the Space Network System database of the ITU Radiocommunication Bureau. This database contains notices concerning space radiocommunication services submitted to the Bureau for:

• Appendix 4 (AP4/II and AP4/III) notification of satellite networks and Earth stations

• Appendix 4 (AP4/IV) notification of assignments to radioastronomy stations

• Appendix 4 (AP4/V and AP4/VI) notification of advance publication of planned satellite networks:

– AP4/VI GSO or non-GSO satellite system subject to coordination under Section II of Article 9

– AP4/V GSO or non-GSO satellite system not subject to coordination under Section II of Article 9

• Broadcasting-satellite service (BSS) networks: Appendices 30 (WRC-2000) and 30A (WRC‑2000)

• Fixed-satellite service (FSS) networks: Appendix 30B (WRC-2007)

• Due diligence information: Resolution 49 (Rev.WRC-2000)

This online service is available online at www.itu.int/publ/R-SOFT-SNS/en. In addition to a brief overview of the ITU Radio Regulations pertaining to space services and general information containing statistics, a database diagram, tables and the APS4 notice forms, a powerful database query system allows the user to navigate through the Space Network Systems. Predefined special queries may be used to retrieve data based on specified input parameters. A reference data query system gives access to reference tables and descriptions of data used in the system.

1. Introduction
The Radiocommunication Bureau’s Space Network System service, named Space Network Systems Online, is a subscription service.

2. Format and structure

The interface to the Space Network Systems database is organized in the following way:

Overview of the Radio Regulations:

• terms;
• procedures;
• revisions.

General Information about Space Network Database:
• scope and volume of data – statistics on APS4 notices by categories;
• statistics on APS4 notices by years and administrations;
• structure of the database;
• database tables and the notice forms.

Data Base Query System:
• list of all geostationary, non-geostationary or Earth stations;
• list of specific geostationary, non-geostationary or Earth stations;
• specific geostationary, non-geostationary or Earth stations;
• all frequency assignments notified to a geostationary, non-geostationary or Earth station;
• all emission information of a geostationary, non-geostationary or Earth station;
• all coordination information of a geostationary, non-geostationary or Earth station.

Special Queries:
• frequency slots: distribution of frequencies in a range (band) used for space services;
• list of satellites using frequencies in the range above;
• list of: beams, frequencies, bands and class of stations for satellites specified by the user;
• list of geostationary satellites by longitude and publication;
• list of Earth stations associated with a satellite beam.

Reference Information:
• reference tables: symbols and descriptions used by BR;
• database diagram and navigational paths in the database.

Results of the queries may be printed using the browser print function. Additionally, the user may download the results to their local PC for further processing using a utility Iw-Rocket developed at ITU. The utility allows the user to create local databases in Excel 5.0™, MS-Access 2.0™, dBase III™, dBase IV™ or Foxpro™. Other formats may be added as required.
