Vanderbilt Latex Handbook, 3rd Edition (HardCover Book)

R. Т. Vanderbilt Company, Inc.. in keeping with its long tradition of service, is pleased to present this third edition of the Vanderbilt Latex Handbook to the rubber industry.
The handbook has been compiled as a source of information for persons primarily engaged in the latex branch of the industry.
It is intended to serve as a guide for the novice compounder so that laboratory and plant trials will generate meaningful data. Fortheexperienced compounder, it is intended to serve as both a current and handy reference.
Emphasis has intentionally been placed on the use of Vanderbilt compounding ingredients throughout the handbook. This was done in the belief that our product line of quality latex compounding materials is of sufficient depth that their use does not deviate from thje acceptable principals and practices of good latex compounding.
The use of latex in commercial applications is a specialized art and is protected by many patents. It is strongly recommended that a careful search of the patent literature precede any attempt to put either a latex compound or process into commercial practice.

BSI BIP 2206:2012 Quality in market research from theory to practice.(Debrah Harding and Peter Jackson); Published : July 2012

Quality in Market Research: From Theory to Practice, by experts Debrah Harding and Peter Jackson written to accompany BS ISO 20252:2012 Market opinion and social research. Vocabulary and service requirements.

Market, opinion and social research is now an established global industry. An increasing proportion of the expenditure of market research companies is allocated to multi-national projects whose objective is consistent regional and global measurement.

Businesses of all sizes, whether they are conducting or commissioning market research, need assurance that it is consistent, reliable and valid. If you carry out, commission or buy market research, demonstrating best practice is a potent statement to consumers and competitors.

Enhance your understanding of quality and how it relates to market research with Quality in Market Research - From Theory to Practice . Packed with case studies, examples, models and checklists, this book has been developed to provide you with the tools you need to ensure your market research is of the highest standard.

Quality in Market Research is the only book on the market to give a full assessment of ISO 20252: Market, opinion and social research and provides practical tips and guidance on how to meet this standard.

Who is it relevant to?

It is suitable for any organization that undertakes research, both nationally and internationally. This includes:
• Any market research associations and companies
• Any company that invests in market research/has a market or consumer insight team
• All market research professionals; students taking the Market Research Society Diploma.

Authors

Peter Jackson has over 25 years' practical experience of market research, the majority of time spent as a director of Business and Market Research Ltd. He has authored and co-authored several books on quality and market research, including Managing a Quality System, Achieving BS EN ISO 9000, Market Research, and Marketing Research in Practice.

She is responsible for the professional body activities at MRS including development of professional standards. She works closely with Peter in the development of ISO 20252 as part of the BSI UK shadow committee.

What others have had to say

‘Quality is a very hot topic in the field of market research. However, standard market research textbooks tend to provide readers with only a summary of the issues. Here, the authors provide readers with a comprehensive and practical guide to the factors that can influence quality and the solutions that can be adopted to improve processes and reassure clients’.Peter Mouncey - Visiting Fellow, Cranfield University School of Management

‘With the latest revision to ISO20252 there is a need for a comprehensive review of what quality is, why it matters and how to implement a formal quality management system. This is what the authors have provided’. Richard Windle - Chairman, Market Research Quality Standards Association, UK.

Selected demographic, macroeconomic and broadcasting statistics are also included. For the June release, data for 2011 are available for selected indicators such as fixed-telephone subscriptions, mobile-cellular telephone subscriptions, international Internet bandwidth, fixed (wired)-broadband Internet subscriptions and percentage of individuals using the Internet. Data for over 200 economies are available.

Please note that since ITU relies primarily on official country data, availability of data for the different indicators and years varies.

Additional data are obtained from reports provided by telecommunication ministries, regulators and operators and from ITU staff reports. In some cases, estimates are made by ITU staff; these are noted in the database.

Brazilian Upstream Oil and Gas: A Practical Guide to the Law and Regulation; July 2012, Consulting editor: Eduardo Guedes Pereira (Author), [Hardcover]; ISBN: 9781905783700 *** New Title ***

Recent discoveries in the pre-salt area off the coast of Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo could reach over 120 billion barrels. Such discoveries could open a vast new market as Brazil - for the first time in its history - becomes a significant oil exporter.

However, Brazil is still a new player in the international oil and gas market. Understanding the country's upstream legal regime is crucial for international investors, as well as for foreign lawyers who may be asked to advise on upstream operations in Brazil.

This new book reviews the key elements of the Brazilian upstream legal framework, including general Brazilian law, the regulatory entities and other players in the upstream sector, the new petroleum legal regime, decommissioning challenges and project finance opportunities. The chapters are written by highly respected Brazilian professionals, including experts from Pinheiro Neto, Machado Meyer Sendacz e Opice Advogados, Vieira Rezende, Merrill Lynch, Campos Mello Advogados and Ernst & Young.

Their insights offer reliable guidance for international investors - and the lawyers assisting them - when considering potential investment in Brazil, particularly for those who are not yet familiar with the country's legal system.

ASME B18.2.1 - 2010 Square, Hex, Heavy Hex, and Askew Head bolts and Hex, Heavy Hex, Hex Flange, Lobed Head, and Lag Screws (Inch Series); ISBN: 9780791833100 - American Society of Mechanical Engineers *** ASME B18.2.1 is a backbone document in the fastener industry. It defines the requirements for a large percentage of fasteners used in North America and is referred to in many other documents, including ASTM and SAE publications. ***

This Standard covers the complete general and dimensional data for nine product types of inch series square and hex bolts and screws. Hex flange head and lobed head designs are new in this revision, as are screw sizes 1 5/8, 1 7/8, and 3 1/8 through 6 inches. Appendices covering gages and gaging information plus formulas on which dimensional data are based are included. Heavy hex structural bolts, formerly covered in ANSI B18.2.1, are now covered in ASME B18.2.6.

Key changes to this 2010 revision include:

Additional head types (hex flange and lobed heads) and additional sizes commonly used (1-5/8, 1-7/8, and sizes 3-1/8 through 6 inches) have been added to make the standard more comprehensive.

The organization of the standard has been changed—making finding information easier and faster, and eliminating some redundancy that existed in previous revisions.

This is the foundational bolt standard for inch-dimensioned industrial products. All companies that manufacture, sell, or use inch bolts should have this revision in their technical library.

Intended for engineering and quality personnel specifying and/or inspecting inch dimensionally based bolts used in the design and manufacturing of industrial products.

ASME B18.2.1 is a backbone document in the fastener industry. It defines the requirements for a large percentage of fasteners used in North America and is referred to in many other documents, including ASTM and SAE publications.

Yet engineers working abroad on development projects often lack the knowledge and information to design, plan, construct, operate, and maintain technology that is culturally, economically, and geographically appropriate—technology that takes into account gender, does not use significant amounts of fossil fuels, accounts for environmental conditions like water scarcity, and uses local construction materials.

This readable and fully illustrated guide is a complete handbook for international engineering service projects that involve water supply and treatment, watersheds, sanitation systems, and indoor air quality. It provides the tools necessary to implement the right technology in developing regions around the world. The authors introduce sustainable engineering and explain how environmental engineering fosters public health, with an emphasis on the relationship between community participation and the success of an engineering project. In addition, this book covers topographical surveying, project planning, watershed management, and construction materials and techniques. Specific technical guidance is offered for the design and construction of multiple systems for water supply, water and wastewater treatment, and flood storage and drainage, as well as solid waste management and indoor air quality improvement.

This book is a valuable resource for engineering students, faculty, and practitioners involved with programs like Engineers without Borders, Water for People, and Engineers for a Sustainable World, as well as those affiliated with government groups, international agencies, and charitable organizations.

American Society of Civil Engineers - ASCE Top Sellers : Moray: Inca Engineering Mystery. Kenneth R. Wright, P.E., L.S.; Ruth M. Wright, J.D.; Alfredo Valencia Zegarra, Ph.D.; Gordon McEwan, Ph.D., 2011 / 228 pp., / ISBN: 9780784410790

Description

Halfway between Machu Picchu and the city of Cuzco, Peru, lies a civil engineering wonder that has captivated and puzzled researchers and travelers since it was first photographed in 1931. Situated on a plateau, the ancient Inca site of Moray consists of many terraced circular depressions in the earth, the largest of which is 30 meters (98 feet) deep. The difference in temperature between the top and the bottom of the circles can be as much as 15 °C (27 °F).

What are the mysterious concentric circles? What do they mean? Was this a religious site? An agricultural research station? Moray: Inca Engineering Mystery reports the results of an exhaustive investigation into the surveying work underlying the site’s construction, as well as the engineered systems for collecting and delivering water. Ken Wright and his team take the reader on a tour of Moray, describing the geography and geology of the area. They explain their field evidence that led to solving the Inca mystery and resolving decades of speculation.

The book includes a walking tour and map to guide visitors through Moray’s significant features.

Profusely illustrated and written in nontechnical language, Moray will appeal to civil engineers interested in earthworks, water supply systems, and engineering history, as well as the tourist and armchair traveler.
