ASM Handbook: Complete Set DVD - 25 Volumes, 2010 Edition *** ( Do not include Volumes 6A and 22B) *** (ISBN: 978-1-61503-043-9)

The ASM Handbook series provides comprehensive and practical information on the properties and performance of materials—with a particular emphasis on industrially important metals and alloys—and the processes used in the manufacture and fabrication of components. The current series includes volumes on properties and selection, phase diagrams, heat treating, surface engineering, welding, powder metallurgy, mechanical testing, metallography and microstructures, materials characterization, failure analysis, fractography, corrosion, forming and forging, casting, machining, nondestructive testing, tribology, fatigue, and modeling.

Now the current complete set – 25 volumes in all – is available on one disc! The Complete Set DVD includes every article, table, chart, and photograph in the current series. Search across the entire series or browse the table of contents for each volume. The content is presented in PDF format, with all of the standard Adobe Reader functions for navigation and finding content within articles.

The DVD can be used with any Windows Platform laptop or desktop computer with a DVD drive. Articles can be printed, and text, table, and images can be copied and pasted. Note: the files on the disc cannot be copied, so the DVD must be present in the local machine for the content to be accessed.
The handbook program is overseen by the ASM Handbook Committee, with a volunteer membership made up of metallurgy and materials professionals from industry, research, and academia. The content of the volumes is developed, written, and reviewed by subject-matter experts under the guidance of the Handbook Committee and with support from ASM’s professional editorial and production staff.

ASM Handbook content is available in print, DVD-ROM, and online subscription formats.

History

Handbooks published by ASM International have been key information resources for the materials engineering community ever since 1923, when the Handbook of the American Society for Steel Treating was published. (The ASST was the precursor to the American Society for Metals, now ASM International.) What started with a single loose-leaf volume in 1923 has grown to a current collection of more than 25 handbook volumes providing authoritative data and information on the properties, processing, and applications of metals and nonmetallic engineering materials.

From 1936 to 1990, the series was known as the Metals Handbook. In 1991, the name was changed from Metals Handbook to ASM Handbook to reflect the increasing coverage of polymers, ceramics, and composite materials in the series.
